Design as art and creativity, but also as an expression of research and experimentation, with the power to bring Moscow and Italy even further together. This was the leitmotif of the 2017 Saloni WorldWide Moscow, which took the cream of the furnishing sector into the spotlight at Crocus Expo-2 from 11th to 14th October 2017. This was a unique opportunity for the Russian market to capture the latest living trends and discover the new frontiers of design presented last April at the Salone del Mobile.Milano.
300 companies showcased their very best products, looking to this event as an unmissable opportunity to gain a foothold in the Russian market and that of the former Soviet Republics, increasingly keen on quality products, from classic pieces to design and luxury items.
The 13th edition of the Saloni WorldWide Moscow proved yet again to be the most important quality furniture and furnishing accessories event on Russian soil. 32,490 attendees, of whom 18,269 trade operators (+9.3% versus 2016), were recorded over the four-day event.
Another key factor was the hospitality extended by the Italian Trade Agency ICE to 120 sectoral professionals chosen from 24 regions of the Russian Federation and Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, who took part in a packed programme of B2B meetings.
This year also marked the 13th edition of the SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow, involving 37 young designers from Russia and the former Soviet Republics. The award-winners will be invited to the next edition of SaloneSatellite, which will be held under the umbrella of the Salone del Mobile.Milano from 17th to 22nd April 2018.
The three fascinating and packed Master Classes provided an opportunity for reflection and in-depth discussion around the issues of design with leading names in Italian architecture and design – Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda, Massimo Iosa Ghini and Cristina Celestino – along with the Work Talk, an absorbing and popular workshop given by the well-known Russian interior designer Diana Balashova.
The event also featured the fourth edition of MADE expo WorldWide, the exhibition devoted to interior architecture, in which leading Italian door and surface sector companies took part.
The Saloni WorldWide Moscow will be back in October 2018.
